DSCSSWest Maritime

Terms of use

Version 1.0, 2 October 2026. On this site "the yard" means Fjordane Yard AS.

1. What DSCSS is

A web tool where a shipyard issues requests for quotation, suppliers declare compliance and quote, and the yard evaluates and records its decisions. It keeps the record. It does not advise, verify or decide.

2. Access

By invitation only, from the yard or from a supplier lead the yard invited. Your account is personal. Keep your password to yourself. Tell your administrator at once if you believe someone else has used it. The yard's administrator can retire any account at any time; the operator can retire administrators.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for what you write and upload, for using DSCSS only for the tender you were invited to, and for following your employer's rules and the yard's confidentiality terms. Do not copy, scrape or share specifications or quotations outside your company. Do not upload anything you have no right to share, and nothing illegal or harmful.

4. Whose data it is

The yard owns its specifications, requirements, rulings and reports. A supplier owns the documents and answers it uploads and grants the yard the right to use them for the tender. West Maritime owns the software and may use anonymised statistics (counts, timings, never content) to improve it.

5. Decisions and declarations

Everything the yard requires, rules or awards is the yard's decision. Everything a supplier declares is the supplier's statement. West Maritime is not party to any contract between yard and supplier and does not check that declarations are true.

6. Availability

We aim at keeping DSCSS available and take backups every night, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. During the pilot the service is provided as it is. Keep your own copies of documents you need. Planned maintenance is announced in the system.

7. Liability

West Maritime is not liable for indirect losses such as lost contracts, delays, lost profit or loss of data that was not in a completed backup. Total liability to any party is limited to the amount the yard has paid for DSCSS in the twelve months before the claim. This does not limit liability for gross negligence or intent, or where the law does not allow it.

8. Misuse

An account used against these terms can be closed without notice, and the user's employer is informed. The user and their employer are responsible for loss caused by misuse.

9. Ending

You can ask the yard's administrator to retire your account. The yard can end its use of DSCSS under its agreement with West Maritime; its data is returned or deleted as that agreement says.

10. Law

Norwegian law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Norway with Sunnmøre District Court as the venue, unless the agreement with the yard says otherwise.

11. Changes

These terms carry a version and a date. When they change you see them once at your next sign in and accept them before you continue.
